During our “courtship” years, 1953-55. we often enjoyed going to Harlem where Raymond, with cameras around his neck, caught images of iconic street life.
People were more than welcoming and invited us into a Saturday night church service where the gospel music and preacher soliloquies were emotionally powerful and riveting. We were invited to come back again and we often did. - Eleanor Jacobs
